Google Ads · New Zealand

Show up the moment someone searches for what you do.

Search ads put you at the top of Google for the exact searches that mean business: “emergency plumber Wellington”, “family lawyer near me”, “buy compression stockings NZ”. You pay per click, we make every click count, for a management fee you know in advance.

  • Free audit of an existing account
  • Call tracking included
  • You own the account

Included

What your fee actually buys.

  • Strategy and keyword research

Which searches to buy, which to block, and what a customer should cost you. Done before the first dollar is spent.

  • Campaign build and weekly optimisation

Search, Maps, Shopping or Performance Max, whichever suits. Bids, negatives, ad copy and audiences tuned every week by a person.

  • Landing page recommendations

The page people land on decides whether a click becomes a customer. We fix what’s there or tell you exactly what to build.

  • Conversion and call tracking

Every call, form and booking tied back to the search that caused it. You see cost per enquiry, not cost per click.

  • A one-page monthly report

Spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry, what changed and what’s next. Written for a business owner, not a marketer.

Who it suits

Google Ads works brilliantly for some businesses and badly for others. Here’s the honest split.

Great fit

  • Trades and urgent services: people search when the pipe bursts
  • Clinics, dentists, physios, specialists
  • Lawyers, accountants, mortgage advisers
  • Online stores with clear product searches
  • B2B suppliers with specific parts or services

Think twice

  • Brand-new products nobody searches for yet: start with Meta
  • Very low-margin services where a $15 click can’t pay back
  • Businesses without capacity to answer the phone: fix that first
  • Anyone who can’t sustain three months of learning

How the fee works

One management fee, agreed before you spend.

You know the number before the first campaign goes live, and it covers everything above.

  • A flat monthly fee for most local businesses; a share of spend for larger, multi-location or e-commerce accounts. Either way it’s in writing first.
  • Ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google from an account you own. We never mark it up.
  • No setup fee when you start with three months, which is the minimum for the data to mean anything.
  • Month to month after that. If we’re not earning the fee, you should be able to leave.

Fees exclude GST.

Straight answers

Google Ads questions, answered.

How much do Google Ads cost in NZ?

Two parts: what you pay Google per click and what you pay us to run it. The average Google Ads click in NZ costs around $3.24, with an average conversion rate of 6.7% (Web Antler NZ benchmarks, 2026), though trades and legal searches can run $8–$20. Our management fee is a flat monthly amount, agreed in writing before you start. Full breakdown of what ads cost here.

What’s a realistic starting budget?

For a local service business, $1,000–$2,500 a month in ad spend is usually enough to learn what works. Below about $800 the data is too thin to optimise. We’ll recommend a number for your market before you commit.

Do I need a new landing page?

Often, yes. Sending paid clicks to a slow or generic homepage is the most common way small businesses waste money on Google. Landing page recommendations are part of every plan; if we need to build one, we’ll quote it.

Will I get calls or just clicks?

Calls, forms and bookings. That’s what we track and report. We set up call tracking so you can see which searches made the phone ring.

Can you take over my existing account?

Yes, and we’ll audit it first, free. Most accounts we inherit are wasting 20–40% of spend on the wrong towns, the wrong searches or broken tracking. Fixing that often pays our fee on its own.

Is there a contract?

Three months to start, month to month after. You own the account and the data, always.
