Website design · New Zealand

A website that wins the job before you’ve picked up the phone.

People decide whether to call you in a few seconds on your website. We build sites for NZ small businesses that make that decision easy: fast, clear, good on a phone, and built to be found on Google. Preview first, fixed quote, then build.

Why it matters

Your website is the first meeting. Most businesses turn up late.

Half of New Zealand’s businesses don’t have one. Most of the rest have something slow, dated or built on a template that looks like their competitor’s. That is the opportunity.

What you get

Everything a small business website needs. Nothing it doesn’t.

  • Designed for your customer, not from a template

We start with who you want to hear from and what makes them pick up the phone. The design follows that, so a builder’s site and a clinic’s site look nothing alike, and neither looks like anyone else’s.

  • Words that do the selling

We write or sharpen your copy so it’s clear, honest and easy to read. Pages written at a 5th–7th grade reading level convert 56% better than harder ones (Unbounce Conversion Benchmark Report, 2024). Plain English is a business decision, not a style choice.

  • Fast on a phone

Built lean, hosted close, tested on real devices. Your site loads before people think about leaving, and Google rewards that too.

  • Built to be found

Clean structure, proper page titles, schema markup, a connected Google Business Profile and pages that answer the questions people search. SEO isn’t a bolt-on later; the foundation goes in now.

  • Built to be read by AI, too

When someone asks ChatGPT or Google’s AI for a recommendation, it reads websites to decide. We structure yours so it’s easy to quote and easy to trust.

  • Yours, and easy to update

Change text, swap photos, add a page, all without us. Or hand it to us on a support plan. Either way you own the domain, the site and every word on it.

How a build works

Preview first. Then five clear steps.

A real sequence, so we’ve numbered it. You’ll always know which step you’re on and what happens next.

  1. Free preview

Tell us about your business. In five working days you see a concept of your new homepage. No cost, no commitment.

  2. Say yes, set the date

We agree the scope, the price and the launch date in writing. Half up front, half at launch.

  3. Words & design

We gather your content, write the copy, and design every page. You review it all on a live link, not a PDF.

  4. Build & test

We build it, connect the forms and tracking, and test on real phones. You get a checklist, not a surprise.

  5. Launch & handover

We move your domain, submit the site to Google, show you how to make changes, and stay on call for the first weeks.

Case study

A builder priced like the work deserves.

Matthew builds architectural homes. His old web presence made him look like every other builder in the district, which meant every enquiry became a price comparison. The new site puts the buildings first and the range in the headline, so he’s compared with design-led builders rather than the cheapest quote.

Straight answers

Website questions, answered straight.

How much does a website cost in NZ?

Across New Zealand, a five-to-eight page business website from a NZ agency typically runs $3,990–$8,000. Our quotes come in under that range because our engine takes the slow parts out of the work, not the care. You get a fixed written quote after the free preview, and it covers design, words, build and launch. Here’s a full breakdown of what drives the price.

How long does a website take?

Your free preview arrives within five working days. From a yes, most business websites launch within about a month, provided we have your content and feedback on time. Online stores and custom builds take longer; we’ll give you a real date before you commit, not a shrug.

Do I need to write the words?

No. Send us what you have (old site, brochure, a voice memo about what you do) and we’ll write or sharpen the copy so it reads well and ranks. You approve every word.

Can I update it myself?

Yes. Every site is built so you can change text, swap photos and add pages without calling us. If you’d rather never touch it, our support plans include edits with a clear turnaround.

What about my existing domain, email and hosting?

We handle the move. Your domain stays yours, your email keeps working, and your old site stays live until the new one is ready. Nobody goes dark.

Do you build on WordPress, Shopify or something else?

Whatever suits the job. Most business sites are built on a fast, secure setup we control end to end; online stores are usually Shopify or WooCommerce. We’ll explain the choice in plain English, and you own everything regardless.

Is a template cheaper?

Up front, yes. A DIY builder costs $50–$150 a month forever, and the average business website is replaced after about two years and four months. A template makes you look like everyone else in your industry, which is the one thing a website must not do. That said, if a template is genuinely the right call for your stage, we’ll tell you.

Who owns the website?

You do. The design, the words, the code, the domain, the analytics. If you ever leave, everything comes with you. We keep clients by being good, not by holding the keys.
